Transparency
editorial
"Transparency" is a magazine representing some points I made in my fifty page thesis paper I wrote at Paris College of Art.
The paper goes into details on the history, failures, and importance of media in our lives and proposed solutions to the issues.
Had I written that same paper after the Trump election, I would have much more to say. The paper’s topic was inspired by a semester
long course on media ethics I took during my study abroad year at Maryland Institute College of Art. "Transparency" highlights the same
topics expressed and points made in my thesis paper through three sections including articles sourced online: Overview (lays out history,
theory, and psychology of media and expresses its importance), Dilemma (covers current and relevant issues in media through examples), and
Solution (helps guide readers to see through these issues by means of media literacy and activism).
*The magazine purposefully does not include advertisements because of the tensioned and often ill relation between media and advertisements. However, ads can be helpful in supplementing costs and making information more accessible and affordable to consumers.
